The 991.2 Carrera 4 Cabriolet features an extra-wide body and an AWD system paired with a new turbocharged 3.0ltr flat-six engine. It also includes a unique taillight section and an upgraded infotainment system for enhanced connectivity.
The updates mirror those of the RWD models, with a redesigned front bumper and new air ducts, four-point daytime running lights, larger mirror housings, and streamlined door handles. The rear sports a thin light strip above the Porsche insignia, emphasizing its 1.73-inch wider rear section compared to RWD models. Porsche claims that one in three 911 buyers choose AWD, making the Carrera 4 Cabriolet a critical model. The new 3.0ltr biturbo flat-six engine delivers more power and improved fuel efficiency. It produces 370 bhp, hits 0-62 mph in 4.5 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 179 mph with a seven-speed manual gearbox, achieving 32.4 mpg. The PDK automatic reduces 0-60 mph to 4.1 seconds and improves fuel economy to 36.6 mpg.
Inside, notable changes include a thicker redesigned steering wheel, inspired by the 918 Spyder, with a knob for mode selection available with the Sport Chrono Package. The new 7-inch multi-touch display, upgraded PCM connectivity, and advanced navigation system are standard on the Carrera 4S. The navigation system supports handwritten inputs and smartphone-like operation.
The electro-hydraulically controlled Porsche Traction Management AWD system, borrowed from the Turbo, ensures precise torque distribution. Porsche Active Stability Management (PASM) is standard, offering excellent handling and comfort. The variable, electromechanical steering provides top-tier feedback and road feel.
