By DesignTekBy integrating the hybrid system from the 971.1 Panamera 4 E-Hybrid into the 971.1 Porsche Panamera turbo, Porsche created a formidable 680hp powerhouse that also prioritised environmental friendliness.
Inside, a generous 12.3” touch-screen served as the central PCM (Porsche Communication Management) unit, seamlessly integrated into the center stack at steering wheel level. This interface provided access to various information and settings for the hybrid system.
The hybrid setup was the focal point, marking the first all-wheel-drive Panamera hybrid. It featured an upgraded electric motor paired with a twin-turbo 4.0ltr V8 petrol engine, combined with an 8-speed PDK (dual-clutch) gearbox. Unlike its predecessors, which were rear-wheel drive only, the 971.1 Panamera turbo E-Hybrid initiated in electric mode before engaging the gasoline engine, resulting in a 50 km (31 miles) electric range. Furthermore, its Li-ion battery pack had a capacity of up to 15.1 kWh.
