Porsche introduced the updated Macan for the 2022 model year, showcasing increased performance, a sharper design, and a new operating concept. With the turbo model discontinued, the 95B.3 Macan GTS now sits at the top of the range as the sporty flagship of the lineup.
The 2022 Macan GTS features the same engine that powered last year's turbo model: a twin-turbocharged 2.9ltr V6, delivering 434 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque. This marks an increase of 59 horsepower and 22 lb-ft of torque over the previous GTS. All 95B.3 Macan models come equipped with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, enhancing the GTS's athletic performance and allowing it to potentially match the Turbo's 3.5-second sprint to 60 mph.
The new 95B.3 Macan GTS models offer a wide suspension bandwidth, balancing maximum comfort and dynamic sports car performance. The chassis has been further optimized to provide more sensitivity and direct feedback to the driving situation and road conditions. The Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system, which continuously regulates the damping force for each individual wheel, has been specifically re-adapted for these models. PASM is standard on the S and GTS models and optional on the base Macan.
The 95B.3 Macan GTS sets itself apart with a standard sport air suspension that lowers the vehicle by 10mm. This air suspension is 10% stiffer at the front and 15% firmer at the rear compared to the previous model, enhancing its dynamic performance. The optional GTS Sport package further increases the vehicle's agility with 21-inch GT design wheels with performance tires, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), and the Sport Chrono package.
Visually, the 2022 Macan features several enhancements. A redesigned nose with an inlay in the exterior color emphasizes the SUV's width, giving it a more imposing presence on the road. The GTS model includes a black-finished center nose section and other black elements. At the rear, a striking diffuser with a technical design complements the front end's new 3D structure, which is also optionally available for the car’s sideblades. The LED headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) and Sport Design exterior mirrors are now standard on all models.
