About Cayman GT4 718 4.0L / GT4 RS 718 4.0L

The 2021 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 embodies the pinnacle of sports car excellence. With its legendary chassis and naturally aspirated 6-cylinder engine, it epitomizes Porsche's ethos of "less is more" perfected by their GT division. While not budget-friendly, the GT4 delivers an unmatched supercar experience, ideal for both track days and daily driving.

Introduced in 2015, the Cayman GT4 quickly became a cult favorite among enthusiasts for its no-frills approach and exceptional driving dynamics. Now, with the 2019 release of the 718 Cayman GT4 and Boxster Spyder, Porsche reintroduces the beloved naturally aspirated 6-cylinder engine into the lineup, delighting purists everywhere.

The heart of these models is a modified 4.0-liter engine derived from Porsche's 9A2Evo twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter engine. Boasting 414 horsepower and 309 lb-ft of torque, these twins sprint from 0-60 mph in just 4.2 seconds with a manual transmission and reach top speeds of 188 mph and 187 mph for the GT4 and Spyder, respectively.

While the manual transmission is standard and celebrated by purists, a 7-speed PDK is available for those seeking even quicker acceleration. However, some critics note the unusually long gear ratios, attributed to emission regulations compliance.

In essence, the 2021 Porsche Cayman GT4 offers an unrivaled driving experience, combining performance, precision, and pure driving pleasure in a way only Porsche can achieve.

Introducing the highly anticipated 2022 model: the 718 Cayman GT4 RS. This exceptional Cayman variant boasts the same exhilarating flat-six engine found in the legendary 911 GT3. With a 4.0ltr powerplant delivering 493 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque, the GT4 RS promises an electrifying driving experience. While slightly lower than the 911 GT3's output, these figures are impressive for a compact, lightweight sports car. Exclusive to the GT4 RS is a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, designed to maximize lap times on the track.
