About Boxster T 718 2.0L Manual (300 Bhp)

For the 2020 model year, Porsche introduced the 718 Boxster T with a 6 speed manual gearbox, designed as sport-focused variants of the base 718. These T models maintain the same 2.0-liter flat-4 engine found in the base 718, but come equipped with performance-enhancing features. Among these are Porsche's 20mm drop sport suspension system, the Sport Chrono package complete with dynamic drivetrain mounts, and a limited-slip differential. Additionally, the T models incorporate the GT4 Short Shifter from the GT4, a sports exhaust featuring black tips, and various cosmetic distinctions.

These include special decals along the lower doors, a smaller-diameter sport steering wheel, door pull straps replacing standard door handles, and wheels sourced from the Porsche 992 Carrera S in a distinctive Titanium Grey hue. Completing the aesthetic upgrades are Titanium Grey rear badging, mirror caps, and black headlight washers, alongside black interior trim and Sports-Tex Cloth and Leather Sports-plus seats.

The exterior of the 718 Boxster exhibits a subtle evolution rather than a complete redesign compared to the third generation models. Notable alterations include a striking black-trim bar spanning the rear, connecting the taillights, while the headlights and bumper receive significant reworking. The side mirrors draw inspiration from the SportDesign mirrors found on the GT3.

Inside the updated cockpit of the 718, the 4th generation of the Porsche PCM system is evident, featuring a display without bezels and multifunction steering wheel controls. While the interior retains much of the essence of the 981 Cayman/Boxster and the 991.2 generation of the Porsche 911, the standout change is the introduction of the new PCM 4.0 infotainment system, replacing the PCM 3.1. Opting for the Sport Chrono package brings a mode selector switch on the steering wheel, offering Sports and Sports Plus driving modes for a more dynamic throttle response, albeit at the expense of fuel efficiency. Noteworthy design elements from the 981 Boxster endure, such as the large air induction ports on the side and the prominent horizontal aluminum piece used for refilling oil and coolant in the trunk.
