About 991 GT3 4.0L (500 Bhp) / GT3 RS 4.0L (520 Bhp)

Porsche made waves at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show with the unveiling of the new Porsche 991.2 GT3, based on the 991.2 facelift model and boasting a coveted manual gearbox—a feature absent in previous GT3 generations. Powered by the same four-liter flat engine as the GT3 RS but with a boosted 500hp, the GT3 received a chassis redesign, incorporating rear-axle steering and lighter construction. Equipped with a 7-speed double-clutch transmission as standard, it weighs in at 1,430 kg with a full tank.

This performance powerhouse accelerates from 0-100km/h in just 3.4 seconds, reaching top speeds of 318km/h. Opting for the 6-speed manual gearbox slightly slows acceleration to 3.9 seconds but ups the top speed to 320km/h. Active rear-axle steering and a lower profile enhance handling and agility.

Aesthetically, the GT3 boasts a new front facia, front spoiler, rear diffusor, and exhaust openings, with an interior featuring a GT sports steering wheel akin to the 918 Spyder. Seat options include adaptive Sports seats Plus, sports bucket seats, and full bucket seats in carbon fiber.

The GT3 offers a balance of performance and fun, reminiscent of the acclaimed 991 R. Its design cues from previous models, coupled with mechanical differential lock and a 4.0-liter engine, cement its status as a standout in the GT3 lineup. The Touring version, sans rear wing, appeals to those seeking a more classic 911 silhouette, bridging the gap between Carrera and GT3 models.

The GT3 RS, a rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive variant of the 911, captivates enthusiasts with its soul: a 4.0ltr naturally aspirated engine revving up to 9,000 rpm, marking it as one of the last non-turbocharged 911s. Introduced in 2015, the 2019 model boasts engine upgrades for enhanced performance, including improved pistons, a stiffer crankshaft, and plasma-coated cylinder liners.

With 520 horsepower at 8,250 rpm and 346 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm, the GT3 RS showcases immediate throttle response and smooth, prolonged revving, paired with a 7-speed PDK transmission. Accelerating from 0-60 mph in 3.0 seconds, 0-100 mph in 6.7 seconds, it achieves a quarter-mile time of 11.0 seconds and a top speed of 193 mph, notable feats without forced induction or electric assistance.

Based on the wide body of the 911 turbo S, the GT3 RS prioritises aerodynamics, featuring NACA ducts for brake cooling, large front fender vents, and an aerodynamic front bumper for increased downforce. With redesigned underbody panels and a carbon fiber rear wing, it generates 100% more downforce at 124 mph compared to the standard GT3.
