About 964 (911) RS 3.6L 1991-93

In 1992, Porsche reintroduced a limited-edition RS model, drawing inspiration from the iconic 1973 Carrera RS. Designed to meet emissions regulations in Europe, this model was exclusively available in that region. Responding to demands from American enthusiasts, Porsche developed the RS America in 1993, resulting in the production of 701 units. The following year, in 1994, the RS America made a comeback, now featuring rear seats. Only 84 RS America cars were produced in 1994. However, while the European RS was a homologation special, the RS America differed as it was essentially an option-delete variant of the regular model.

Positioned as a high-performance, no-compromise version of the 964, the RS/RS America offered four factory options: a limited-slip differential, AM/FM cassette stereo, air conditioning, and a sunroof. The interior design was more stripped-down compared to a standard 911, with features like armrests and door pockets omitted from the interior door panels, which instead featured a simple pull strap for the opening mechanism.
